Gold Coaster tells of Bali threats and extortion

A Gold Coast teen has returned from Bali vowing to never lapse to a holiday island.

McKenzie Weir was attacked during a outing to Bali final year, though suspicion he would give it another go and went behind to applaud his birthday in mid-April, along with his step-brother.

The 19-year-old’s silent Jodee contacted myGC to share a fear story after reading about a tragic genocide of an Australian lady in Bali progressing this week.

Ella Knights, 26, was found by a bystander fibbing face down in a gutter in North Kuta about 3am on Thursday. It’s believed a Sydney internal was not wearing a helmet.

Jodee says she was really saddened by a news and felt compelled to share her son’s story.

“My son was in tears, he was shaking, he was observant ‘they’re gonna put me in jail mum’,” Jodee said.

She claims McKenzie and his step-brother, Anthony (both graphic above), were roving their scooters around midnight on Tuesday Apr 18 when a cab pulled in front of them and slammed on a brakes.

McKenzie hit the car and finished adult with a nasty cut a length of his face and had a tooth knocked out (pictured below).

“He’s propitious he didn’t remove an eye,” Jodee says, explaining that they were both wearing helmets. “Otherwise he could have also been dead.”

The cab motorist followed them to a sanatorium and allegedly threatened them into handing over a vast sum of money.

“We transfered all we had over there,” Jodee recounts. “They took out $1,900 though a cab motorist wouldn’t accept that.”

“After many threats over a march of hours, he finished adult job a military and after about an hour and a half they came to an agreement of $2,600.”

“The (initial $1,900) transaction went through, though as shortly as a Police walked away, a cab motorist pronounced “if we don’t give me a rest of my income (the full $2,600) you’re gonna finish adult in a array and you’ll never leave Bali and get home again’.”

After eventually profitable a driver, and undergoing medicine to his face, McKenzie and Anthony were afterwards in a competition to a airfield to get home.
