WATERLOO — For 23 years, Paul Boehmer has brought a tastes of Southeast Asia to life during his renouned Waterloo restaurant, Bhima’s Warung.
Now, with a handful of partners in tow, he’s expanding his participation in a city in a form of a new restaurant-bar that’s set to open in a new year.
Located on a belligerent building of a new Fourteen Princess unit building during 14 Princess St. W., Loloan Lobby Bar will simulate Boehmer’s practice operative in Indonesia and travelling in a segment with friends and colleagues.
“I do not wish to totally duplicate Bhima’s,” Boehmer pronounced in an email. “We wish for people to suffer both places on a same weekend!”
The new plcae will plan a atmosphere of a hotel run bar, with dual graphic areas, Boehmer pronounced — a vast bar featuring small, juicy snacks formed on Southeast Asian travel food, and a some-more normal dining area with a full à la grant menu.
Boehmer pronounced they are re-incorporating French colonial accents and mid-century building materials into a pattern wherever possible. Windows into a kitchen will offer congregation a event to watch a artistic process. Tasting menus and special events are also planned.

The name Loloan graced a former excellent dining grill in Bali, Indonesia, that Boehmer owned and operated for 5 years. The Balinese word means “where a stream meets a ocean” — “a magical, holy place symbolizing the passion for Southeast Asia and adore of home,” Boehmer said.
